Respectful Maternity Care

Making sure all moms and babies get equitable care from the start is a priority for us. That’s why Huggies® has partnered with The Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) to sponsor the creation of a new set of standards for maternal care that are rooted in dignity, respect, and free from discrimination.

An Overview of Respectful Maternity Care

Huggies® Healthcare™, a long-time partner with AWHONN, has provided an educational grant to support the development of the new, first-of-its-kind, Respectful Maternity Care Framework and Evidence-Based Clinical Practice Guideline (RMC EBG), a resource on respectful nursing care from AWHONN.

This EBG provides evidence-based approaches that help reduce disparities in maternal morbidity and mortality outcomes and support birthing women and their families as they safely prepare for birth, postpartum recovery, and begin breastfeeding and parenting. The information shared by Huggies® Healthcare™ on RMC is intended to create awareness, educate, and provide resources for Maternal Healthcare Professionals and families.
